I'd say you should be ok, just common sense type stuff.one hotel in grenada told me to avoid a certain area of town and i did and was ok.
I've been, if you can get yourself over to Little Corn Island it's freaking amazing.
Granada has a lovely lake created by a Volcano, try and spend a couple of days there too
I don't recommend Volcano Boarding down Cerro Negro. Espically if you try to go for the speed record, I managed to set the record for that day of 90kph however at the time I was barrelrolling down the hill whilst half the volcano embedded itself in my scalp.
