definitely keep the GT3. They are called Lotus for a reason.
Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious
Moronic saying and usually from people that have never had one.Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious
In my experience some of the other brands are far far worse.
Used V6 is prob achievable now with little to no depreciation.
I think the Loads Of Trouble Usually Serious quote was not out of place some years ago, but these days they're a great alternative with much to offer.
V6 Exige is a cracking car. If it were sat alongside the GT3, I reckon it would be hard to choose which one to take for an early morning blast.
Would be great to have both, as would be hard to let a GT3 go.

Lotus build some brilliant cars - my modded Elie S1 is great fun (more so than a number of Porsches I have driven) and perfectly reliable.
I was very impressed with the early V6 and they have received great reviews. Go and drive one -you may be very surprised.
Depends wherabouts you are but usually Jamie at B&C would be more than happy to show you the car's ability...

Interesting thoughts, 'didn't do well enough at school to have both cars unfortunately and not wanting to borrow.
I'm in Scotland Si, so a long way from B&C. I had a S2 ExigeS a few years back so am well aware of their nuances, from reading owners experiences the later cars do seem to be put together better?
Have put a feeler out with a few dealers, so will see what transpires.

I have had a couple of 991s and 3 esprits in the last couple of years. No major issues with either but the lotus is the car that has shot up in value and has made money on each one.
I think that Lotus across the board probably has a lot of scope for increasing further.
Just my opportunity opinion of course and I love the look of exige.

I am most probably getting an evora 400 after a test drive that was intended for sts and giggles. I have got a 981 Spyder, so not a gt3, but still a very special car. The lotus drove better. Just give one (the lotus you want) a test drive, and you will know within the first 100m if you like it.
Currently have an Exige V6 Cup after a number of Porsche GT cars over the years , I would say the Porsche has a more charismatic motor though no more effective, it's much easier to use, not least in terms of getting in and out!! but the lotus is more tactile, has even better steering and feel and is very quick.
it's a small car though and very focussed, not for everyone

Had a test drive of one at Murrays in Edinburgh was absolutely brilliant to fun to drive fast is a understatement but IMO a track car or a weekend toy I needed a all rounder hence ordering a Cayman I would like to think I will own one someday also had a drive of the Elise 220 that to was superb piece of kit

Are you talking about the Elan 26R?
Er, wasn't that the only 26R? I wouldn't want to crash one either, very poor cage and naturally everyone runs the lightest shell possible.I think the V6 - particularly the latest ones - sound phenomenal on paper. Would love to try one.

I was just trying to correlate your comparison of a car built over 50 years ago specifically for racing by a business existing solely to go racing with a car designed less than 20 years ago specifically for the road by a business used to satisfying the tough requirements of the world's major car manufacturers. I think the V6 - particularly the latest ones - sound phenomenal on paper. Would love to try one.
