Cheaper alternative to hosted website?

Hi, I have a website about competing in my car which I used to regularly update and had a reasonable amount of traffic. It promoted my activity, which sometimes earned me some small discount on parts etc and had some very basic monetising so it at least paid for itself. These days I compete less frequently and never update or repair the site, so it's a bit messy and costly, given that I don't gain anything from it. I don't even have the car it is mostly about.
But I will compete again and it seems a shame to throw it all away as occasionally people still contact me about it.
I've just renewed the hosting for another year but wondered if I could move all the content to another free or very cheap alternative. Facebook?

How much are you paying? If you're on an old / expensive package you might just be able to get that knocked down a bit.
