Another 'garden' worth a mention at this house, listed at £1m, north facing too

If that's Clifton Road near Canford Cliffs then my mate built that and the one next door. There are so many slit plots like that around that area that result in really bad gardens.

Yes it is. Looks like his work is very nice in terms of the build itself, beautifully finished, but that plot really was not made for a house to be on it! Retaining wall would probably give me a few sleepless nights, that's a hell of a lot of earth being held back.

That whole part of Clifton road is under development now, but you need to be on the other side to enjoy the sun and views to the sea that being high up gives you.

The other side is superior I agree and offers some sea glimpses on the top floors I think.

Yes he builds a lovely house but not much you can do with a huge slope down at the back, IIRC the retaining wall was vastly over engineered to be safe smile

Remember the chair from Jim'll fix it?

Here's the matching bed, complete with medal dispenser

I like the picture lamp lighting up a picture of Jim himself (oh we'd better take that down for the photos).

No curtains either weird.

It looked like it had been vacant for a while - there was a very mossy corvette on the driveway. Then it got a bit of a cleanup and went on the market. We always used to have some great conspiracy theories around the owners.

Many favourite bits; the vaulted marble effect ceiling in the bedroom, the Amtico ceiling in the lounge and the red decking.
fk me that's just awful. Complete taste bypass and delusions of grandeur - is it a footballers house by any chance?
Travelling community, surely?

You have to admire the barefaced cheek of asking £500k for that. Even for Herts thats got to be horribly overpriced surely ?

Never mind the tight plot, the architect needs shooting just for having a complete fail on window proportions

This popped up for rent on my Facebook recently, £2k a month;

http://m.primelocation.com/to-rent/details/photos/...

It's a recent renovation yet looks like it arrived straight from the 80s / 90s

I lol'd at the BBQ in the bedroom (why?!)
I read every sentence in your post but still burst out laughing when I spotted the BBQ.

I think they just didn't have anywhere to put stuff, like the serious machine weights kit... in the bathroom!
I love the way there is also a second double bed in the BBQ room too.....

What's the obsession with making houses look like hotels?

I spend enough time in hotels when I'm working. I want my home to feel like a home.

I posted this in the pawn thread a year ago. Surprisingly, it is still for sale.
