1 bed, £600k! Needless to say no cats allowed. You can't swing 'em.

That has to be a winner of this thread. It'll be extremely hard to top that.
Why? Look where it is. If you needed to be in London with work during the week that would be pretty perfect. If you were on your own and wanted to be in posh London it's pretty much perfect too. Obviously needs work, but that's hardly unusual either. Would be a really nice compact detached house when done up.

It's a really nice building in a really nice bit of a really expensive place to live, but the per foot price isn't particularly exceptional is it?
£2000/sqft is pretty damn high even for where it is. And very high for the type of property.
Is it? I don't know the area well enough, but it doesn't sound ridiculous for a detached period house in that location.

Being built near me on this plot:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8727835,0.157644...

Is a 5 bed house. It only has a tiny gap between the house and the high retaining wall at the back, so no real outside space and the rear of the house will be in permanent darkness. It also bizarrely has two front doors (one at ground floor level and on at first floor level. Oh and it's right up against a live music venue

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.8728271,0.157697...

The plans are here:

https://publicaccess.eastherts.gov.uk/online-appli...

IIRC they are after about £850k for it

I like the Mansard-style roof extension. Shows how much space you can get from a 7ft-wide house on 3 floors!

Many favourite bits; the vaulted marble effect ceiling in the bedroom, the Amtico ceiling in the lounge and the red decking.

Went past this the other day. Man, is it ugly. I can't work out whether it's been added to or built like that, but result is a dog's dinner.
I can't get over that horrendous strip of a window, right in the middle of the house! But worse is the position of the garage, unless I'm missing something obvious, why on earth did they position the door that way round? Not only awkward to get to but leaves a blank wall facing the driveway.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope... It's an £800k house as well (or so they hope - probably about right for the area IF it wasn't such a horror)

Just around the corner from us.

I always preferred the chalet style house a few doors down that was on the market last year (although it needed modernising)

It's not perfect but that is a long way off a nightmare! Well for me at least, but we have to put up with much worse here where there is hardly any land to build on properly.

I think those photos are just a sign of how long it's been on the market!

It would be stunning if refurbished, but the cost of that would push you into the next league and a much better street in the same area..

Another one squeezing a new build into part of a previous house's garden.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/new-homes-for-sale/prop...

All the garden it has is to the front, so little or no windows on the rear. Marble floors everywhere. And this glass walled room with a tiny high up window is called on the map "dining room".

Now I don't mind modern style (grand design) properties with large glass wall windows but this is just half hearted and really rather sad, looks more like a modern house from the 1970s. Stonework on the outside is nice, that's about it. It is in a fantastic location though.

Another room with a glass internal wall, called "family room" on the plan and is next to the dining room.

Ps. More internal glass walls, this time from the dining room into the breakfast room at the front, due to the poor light at the rear.

I know exactly what you mean as I bought a house with a similarly unbalanced front. I did have plans to spend a fortune making it all look great by getting the windows replaced to all match in size and shape, etc, but then got used to it, phew.

Can you imagine the ribbing you would get for being the guy that lives in the massive pink house? Not going to be a cheap one to re-paint!!!

The whole place needs a refurb internally which would cost an absolute fortune to do properly as it's a big lump of house, 3 storey tall entrance hall.
You think the agent could have actually used a photographer not his phone to take the photos on!
I used to live round the corner from that. It's been on the market, on and off, for years Iirc.

There's obviously women out there with better bedroom skills than I've ever come across. I can't think of any other reason a guy would otherwise agree to some of the interior design above.

Stripy Amtico on the ceiling? "Naw hen".
Bright red, purple, green in different rooms? "Naw hen".
Stainless steel/chrome/marble/high gloss everything with added love hearts? "Give it a fking rest hen".

"I'll bring my yoga class round for a 10 on 1 reverse gangbang. Susan can deepthroat a baseball bat and the twins have always fancied you".

"There's the catalogue, pick what you like".

This one is bonkers, I thought that first photo was a squash court! Then the 'family room next to the 'dining room'. These rooms look like they should be inhabited by the elephant man and chums for observation by a paying audience.

biggrin I was thinking I like it from a venue perspective (fitness classes etc) but not a home perspective.

Having seen The Omen, though, I can't help thinking it's a dangerous building and I'd accidentally decapitate myself while running in socks.
