Conservatory - mixing UPVC and wood

I have an Edwardian style conservatory which needs a replacement door frame. The door frame is sagging a bit and catching the doors - but the rest of the conservatory is fine - and the brick base is solid. I have a feeling the whole side with doors will need replacing and have someone coming round to take a look at it this weekend. Question is:- is it possible to replace it with a wooden frame and doors, or is it not possible to get a good join between the two materials? Reason, is I don't like UPVC, even if timber needs painting/maintenance now and again.
