I have a problem with black mould above the damp course, there seems to be plenty of air bricks below the damp course then none above for about 3 meters if I ad air bricks about 2 bricks above the damp course and 8 bricks apart would this work for the mould and also could it cause the rooms to become cold? Many thanks. Doug

can you post photos of inside and out?

is the mould above the floor I assume and on internal walls which face outside?

I don't think air bricks would fix this it sounds like damp is getting in from somewhere.

More like warm moist air condensing on a cold surface. Heating on, lack of ventilation? Try a dehumidifier and opening windows slightly to get air movement.

Vents can go into the sub floor void, wall cavity or directly into the house. They all serve different purposes.

Sub floor vents won't make any difference, more cavity vents will probably make it worse. Vents to the room may help but will give you draughts.
