Some folks don't have nice neighbors. I'd be paying up for a garden bench if that was my tree. Not sure I could cover a Michelangelo in the garden though, you might get a nice bottle of red.

Yup, he's doing everything a decent neighbour should do, without going overboard and paying for stuff that isn't his responsibility. It's exactly what I'd do in those circumstances.

Buds or GTFO!

If those buds close to the camera are in fact the same tree it's a Horse Chestnut.

The tree was too far away for me to notice any conkers.
The tree bloke has been and cut a load of it up - they dont seem the most professional outfit. He told me it was Oak, but im not sure now and think it probably is horse chestnut. He has left me a load of logs, but from experience horse chestnut is crap for burning!

From looking at the trunk it looks like other Horse chestnuts around.

Personally i'd take a hit on my fence to get some easy wood for my stove.

Horse Chestnut is ok ish (got a load on my drive now) Sweet Chestnut is ste. At the end of the day free wood is good wood wink
