Is it at the junction of the ridge tile and the lay board for the upstand ?

If water is getting blown up, they haven't taken the upstand high enough, or put a welt on the top.

You can get foam rope in varying sizes that will stop the worst of it, but need a pic to understand better.

If there is only 1 tile before the ridge, i doubt there is the correct upstand height behind the tile.To be fair, a bit of crazy foam will be as good as anything without stripping the ridge off and doing it properly.

We have the same, but without the tile - the original grp upstand was a good 8", and now it's been EPDM'd the rubber goes right over the ridge and down the other side. Foam!

The only proper way to properly sort it as roofer says is to extend the upstand higher behind the slates - but that'd mean the ridges and slates coming off and trying to add some plywood and fibreglass. Foaming it would seal it to some extent but isn't a long term solution as you're missing a fairly important bit of the roof design with little or no upstand.
We found our grp was actually porous - turns out it's a common problem, along with delaminating and cracking - so got the whole lot redone in EPDM, wrapping it right over the ridge along with a new dry ridge system, meaning a few vent slots being cut into the rubber underneath the ridge.
