I've got a prefab garage with those cement type corrugated roof panels (not asbestos I've checked). Its in a bit of a shabby state and recently I've accidentally given it a few jabs with various large items and tools I've been moving around, and now its slowly letting in a bit of water during heavy downfalls.

I'm planning long term to knock it down and replace it with something much more substantial, but I'm keen to replace the current roof myself and get it water tight but also more resilient to my clumsiness. It's a flat roof which pitches from front to rear.

I've never done something like this myself, and was wondering what solutions people would recommend and if anyone has any links to some decent how to guides or videos.

I was thinking of either using some structural ply with felt tiles like you get on log cabins, or some steel corrugated panels.

The sheeting you have is off the shelf in matching profile. Cheap too. If it's only short term, that's what I would do.

Sorry It's late and I'm feeling a bit thick, I don't understand what you mean.

I've just priced up for a 5000mm X 3600mm roof and I think I might have the scale wrong
yikes

Still, at least they're throwing in a free tool kit smile

Bad validation on the form, no indication of units....

Did I mention that I wished to replace it at a reasonable cost laugh

I used crinkly tin and a ridge on mine which was asbestos - nightmare to get off and dispose of.
I acquired some tin a few years ago so just had to get 2 ridge pieces plus a weekend of time. Had to move one of the internal supprt which was easy to do.

Replaced exactly the same on my folks garage around 15 years ago with corrugated tin/steel or whatever it is.

Managed to get that and the hook bolt type fixings with washers etc from a local roofing supplier.

All stripped and replaced in a day.

That could have been one for the 'Things you ordered that turned out to be bigger' thread.

If you were keeping it I'd suggest an EPDM rubber roof, but if you're knocking it down soon I'd just bodge it.

Heres mine when I replaced it about 12 months ago. If I were to do it again I'd lay the rubber out for longer before fitting as the creases were very annoying to try and get out.
