Any recommendations for big panels that use tongue and groove joins ?

Looking for a light coloured background (with sparkly bits to keep wifey happy!)

When I was last researching these, Nuance Bushboard seemed to be the 'best' in terms of the actual product. Not cheap, however.

This is what I've got fitted in my ensuite. Look brilliant.

Just a word of warning, whatever panels you go for if using the larger sheets e.g. 2420 x 1200 then make sure you can get them to where they need to go as they're very big and don't bend. I had to go crawling back to the supplier to ask to swap for smaller panels when I did our as the big ones wouldn't go up the stairs. Felt like a bit of a wally I must say.

Maybe think about using glass splash backs an an alternative? Probably much easier to keep clean, and to install too.

What are the pros and cons of panels (for around the bathroom) over tiles?

They cover a large area quickly. They do however need care when installing. Cut a tile wrong and it's hardly the end of the world. You probably won't even waste it, just use the cut elsewhere.

Cut an expensive 8' x 4' panel wrong and you're in a world of pain.

I've fitted a few and they can look good. make sure you pay special attention to the joints and corners as they're the potential leak points.

Thanks for the advice. Definitely something to consider over tiles.

I did two bathrooms with 'Mermaid' shower panels. V.please with them. Really easy to clean.

As others have said, needs care with fixing and joints, plenty of YouTube vids about now.

We have these also - brilliant but not cheap, just ordered more for the kids bathrooms.

We've just had a walk-in shower with Nuance boarding fitted and are very pleased with it. As said, not cheap, and cheaper boards may be just as good, but the quality of ours looks v good. A pro fitted them as I didn't fancy screwing up the cutting of a 2400 x 1200 at about £200 a sheet biggrin

I've been quite pleased with these

https://www.ipsluk.co.uk/bathroom-wall-panels/show...

2400 x 1000 x 10.

They're a kind of corrugated plastic. That makes them sound flimsy but they're really not. Couldn't justify the price of solid acrylic and don't like the idea of the ply/MDF backed stuff.

Edit: You can get a sample from them for about £1. Be interesting to compare to the higher price stuff. We never really bothered as we were happy with the quality of this and budget wouldn't allow £200+ per panel.

We use Altro white rock which is available in 8 x4 or 10 x 4 panels in industrial shower areas. Alternative cheaper option is bioclad. Both can be either weld jointed or cover stripped on joints. I used a coulored version in my daughters en suite shower and given she's never out of it works perfectly.
