It frankly looks to me like it was designed on Mars, but I am sure one of you will know. The PH collective is never beaten!

It was the mid engine rover prototype, abandoned because it would have rivalled the E type. Possibly P8 or P9 from memory?

It's in the Coventry Museum of Transport - I thought it was a Triumph but it may be a Rover.

If memory serves me correctly it was never "styled" as such.

The engineering team (Spen King? were more concerned about covering the oily bits and it never got to the stage of being refined by the styling department.

Compete with a an e-type ? ...i understand it was considered to be such a threat to the e-type William Lyons himself ensured it did not make production.
