Just bought myself a weekend toy. 2008 MX5 MK3 1.8

53000K, soft top in Galaxy Grey.

Bodywork is unmarked apart from a tiny 'ding' on rear wing, and a stone chip on the mirror - but for a 9 year old car, it's excellent.

Great fun to drive, especially around bends, didn't realise they were that good ...

Very nice. Someone will soon mention that it needs to be lowered a bit to sort out the handling. A small problem with early Mk3s.

TBH I'll leave s is I think, the handling is superb, not saying it can't be improved, but it's good enough for me. Body is in good condition, tiny mark on rear bumper and the front spoiler has a small scuff on the drivers side edge, but for a 9 year old car you can't complain.

I have to say I'm happy.

Have fun! I've a 2007 2.0 and it's been the most fun and reliable car we've ever had.
Keep it serviced and it'll look after you. BTW gearbox and diff oil are due a change every 25k, so worth checking it's been done at 50k.

It's been serviced on time, though not all were official mazda dealers. I'll check if it specifically has the g/box diff oil listed anywhere, if not will get it done.

One thing I've noticed, is the dipstick is bloody hard to read ...

Can't see it mentioned anywhere in the receipts. Service schedule shows diff is first due for a change at 50k, and gearbox at 60 something K. Cars at 53k, so a bit over. Booked it in for week on Tuesday to get both done. Bit early for gear box but clean oil is better than dirty. Again, the for the heads up ...

Changed g/box and diff oil changed today, so one job done - it's quieter from the back now, so def needed doing.

Nice. Got mine last month - a 2011 2.0 in Metropolitan Grey (not sure how that differs from Galaxy Grey?)
