Just about to collect my new trackbike which will replace my trusty old pre injection R6.

The problem is, with it been worth 5x more than the R6 I really need to insure it.

I've had a quote from BeMoto which wasn't to bad at £180 with a 10% excess for storage only, no transit cover.
Second quote was from Ryan Motorsport which was more at £240 for the same cover.

Is there anyone else I've missed, bike does have a V5 but wont be MOT'd or taxed and is for sole track use.

Thanks in advance,
Darran

Why not just insure it as a road bike - if it's sorned; if it's just storage insurance then you only want theft cover. If it gets stolen then I find it very unlikely it's coming back.

I assume that the OP wants damage cover on the track. Normal road bke cover isnt going to give that.

Hi, thanks for the reply's.

No I'm just looking at theft only cover, not bothered about damage on track.

I don't have any no claims bonus as I stopped riding on the road some time ago. Also I don't want to have to mess around MOT'ing it each year to keep it on a normal road policy.

Cheers

Doesn't need to be mot'd to be insured. My track bike is insured (normal road policy si kept my no claims a life while I wasn't road riding) but hasn't been taxed or mot'd for a couple of years.

Mine is included on my house insurance, for cover at home only. I can't recall the company name, but the broker is Simon Farquhar, and it's the only house insurance I found which specifically covers track bikes.

£240/yr for theft from garage or van to a value of £15k
Mine doesn't have a v5, so had to be data tagged

Try BeMoto.

I got a quote for laid up insurance which covers fire and theft from home. Was around £100.
