Hi all. I'm soon to be parting ways with my 1972 109 pickup.

I've been doing a bit of research but can't seem to get to grips with a reasonable valuation on my Landy. I've seen wrecks go for £4/5k on eBay. Anybody care to lend their opinion on what I should be sticking it up for?

It's got 11 months MOT and has been fully restored throughout. 3 previous owners. In immaculate condition.

Any help appreciated!

Very similar to my old ex-mil 109.

If it were mine and I wanted top dollar for it, I'd be tempted to put the correct canvas or hardtop on it and be selling it via milweb or similar to a collector. Find out the original military reg and do your homework on it's history. It does look very straight, is it ex RAF? 12v or 24v? Generally RAF vehicles tended to have easier lives than army vehicles.

Also, there's restorations, and restorations. There's a huge difference in value between something with a patchwork chassis and bulkhead and something that's been done properly.

Originality is important here, clearly the truck cab and spare wheel are wrong, how genuine is the rest of it?

Sorry but....where does he says it's an ex-mil 109?

He doesn't. However the tyres, bonnet clips, canvas strap mountings for the spare wheel (straps missing) NATO rings and lights are all military. However, these could all have been added later. But it's on a military chassis, it's at a higher ride height and the square fronts of the front dumb irons are the dead giveaway that it's ex-mil...although some "GS" variants were indeed military but on a standard chassis.

Military chassis with the "squares" visible below the front bumper...

Military GS is basically the same as civvy chassis...no squares and lower.

The OP will also probably find a fuel tank under each seat which you fill by opening the driver or passenger door, a different rear crossmember, 8 bladed fan with twin fanbelts, and a light under the rear crossmember which shines at the rear diff that was probably once painted white, as well as a big rotary light switch in the middle of the dash.

Either way, the OP's vehicle is a very lovely thing in superb condition, and a hell of a lot more original than my 110 which believe it or not is 31 years old and also ex-RAF.
