Hi,

I Have a fairly old Potterton Suprima 50 boiler that I'm wanting to get the flue changed from going through the wall that it's mounted on to going through existing wall and then up and out of our new extension roof. Basically the flue now finishes inside the new garage extension (garage isn't currently sealed at both ends).

Our builder is saying he thinks that the flue kit is obsolete but I'm unsure if I'm being pushed into a new boiler.

Anybody know wether a suitable kit is still available?

Thanks for any help!

I'd say he was likely right.

Ring around the local plumbing merchants and ask. Then you'll know for yourself.

I extended my Potterton flue from 90 deg out to upstairs and 90 deg out in 2001.
I might have some papers somewhere with part numbers but can't promise. Will look tonight.

As you may know there are regs for flue positioning which would be well worth looking at.

And depending on how many bends you need It may not be possible.

There's a max length flue you can run and 90 degree bends are there same as a 2m straight run etc etc..... Depends on the boiler and flue size.

You need to get the opinion of a gas safe bod.

Twin wall flue parts are pricey too, might not cost much more to move your boiler.

I've just replaced a flue on a 15 year old Performa 28 at a cost of something stupid like £250, that was for the flue and one extension, they are classed as spares so are 3/4 times the price of current parts. If I'd realised the cost earlier I would have probably have just changed the boiler.
