If you don't need such long lengths, go to your local wholesalers and ask for some end of reel bits.
Assuming that this is just plastic oval in the wall only, I don't advise doing this. Single wires need to be totally enclosed within the conduit system to provide double insulation protection. Having single wires poke out of the top of the oval to a joint box is not good practice.

Ain't compliant with regs though is it, should be brown. But yeah you're right enough, plenty of allegedly competent sparkies don't bother putting any sleeve on a blue wire used for switched live, so red would be better than nothing, if a little confusing, and non compliant!
