I currently have a light above the garage with has a photocell to determine when to be on at night but in addition has a PIR which makes the light go much brighter when activated. Unfortunately, it has broken. It was made by IQ group who appear to be Malaysian and looks like it was sold through B&Q about 10 years ago. I am trying to find a replacement as the sensor seems to have failed and I can't buy a replacement. I can't seem to find this sort of 2 stage light anywhere other than one made by Honeywell and sold in the US with poor reviews! Does anyone have a suggestion?

I've had 3 or 4 different lights like this over the years, and none of them have really worked properly. They have all had problems working out the difference between an overcast day and actual night time. My current one blows bulbs every few months.

I'd be interested if anyone can suggest an integrated LED bulkhead unit that works properly and doesn't cost a fortune

I recommend the Osram Noxlite. Very well built, clever install bracket, and LED. I would suggest you separate out the low light and the movement light into two units, so a single 8w for the low light and and twin sensor PIR version for the movement. Not cheap, but great quality. Was cheaper on amazon.de, but 30% off at the moment on amazon.co.uk

Noxlite

I have a couple of these up and are good..I would probably go for the twin lights for more brightness.

Shame that all the units that work properly are so ugly.
