Bank of ovens for new kitchen-which ones to get?
Discussion
Obviously for day to day cooking we generally just use the one but when we cook for guests, we normally cook a lot! So in the new kitchen I'm thinking of getting a bank of ovens with perhaps up to three.
The Neff Slide and Hide range would be good as the bank is adjacent to an island but it would seem their microwave combi ovens don't feature it. I was hoping to get;
Smaller sized steam oven, smaller sized microwave combi and a regular large size self cleaning fan oven. Probably having the two smaller 45L sized ones either side of the 70L large ones so they look nice in a row.
Does anyone have any recommendations of a single manufacturer that do a nice range of all three?

Hi we have the Gaggenau 200 range steam oven, fan oven and warming drawer one above the other, there is a microwave in the range. They are side opening but you can have left or right sided. Gaggenau also do a 90cm wide oven
They are really great ovens but eye-wateringly expensive. Easily the most expensive thing in the house and only to be bought if you think you are going to stay in the house for a long time or have shed loads of money.
Cheers

Our Kitchen designer is a Gaggenau agent and rather disappointingly he said they are now just rebadged Seimens ovens, apparently letting Seimens use the technology first to establish reliability (fine in one way). The problem you have is the features are a whole generation behind modern machines-the steam oven they do is tiny in size compared to any others on the market. They are really great ovens but eye-wateringly expensive. To be honest, I think they are out of my budget for what I want. We do intend on staying in the house forever and I value reliability a lot (who wants to spend thousands on a few new ovens for one to conk out 5 years down the line and render the whole ensemble obsolete?) but I think Gaggenau are going to be double what Neff/Seimens and the like will cost.

Purely for symmetry we are having 2x neff slide and hide ovens and then above a neff steam oven alongside a neff microwave.
Bit of a waste but when we do need them it will be great, whoever buys our house in a few years better like cooking but either way it will look great.
Any chance of a picture of this set up pointing out which is which? It's this sort of thing I'm after I think.Bit of a waste but when we do need them it will be great, whoever buys our house in a few years better like cooking but either way it will look great.

Below is set of SiemensOn left, top to bottom:
Combi Microwave; Oven; Warming draw
On right:
Steam oven; Oven; Warming draw
In the middle - fridge, neatly between 2 ovens
Sorry I can't get a straight on view - island in the way
Looks good to us - works well, we usually use the left oven for messy stuff (in oil, roasts etc), the right for clean so we only have to ever clean one!

Should never install a fridge right next to an oven.
No major issues installing fridges next to ovens these days.Neff microwave/oven combi with neff warming drawer (clips missing as stolen for a customers job!) and then neff slide and hide oven.
You dont really notice the microwave door isnt a slider - just dont mount it too high
Gaggenau ovens are in no way comparable to Siemens in my opinion. Current range of Gaagenau ovens still above and beyond that of Siemens in performance, style and design although the dishwashers etc are all very similar.
Service also a level up, our local engineer has served the same area for 15+ years and is a pleasure to deal with.
It's all in the detail and good design, they are like a piece of art.
I'm a fan, can you tell?
Fridges and freezers next to these ovens in not a problem.

I have the Gaggenau stuff going in. I went for combi microwave, oven and warming draw stack. Sort of regretting not doing the steam oven instead of microwave, everyone seems to think they're wonderful.
My one thing is to haggle with the price of the Gaggenau stuff, and look for a discounter, the kitchen people can't really match the prices and all too often if you're looking at that price range they expect you to just sign the check and not bother about the cost.I showed my kitchen guy the price the discounter said he'd do, and he came back to me within a few hundred, I agreed to get it from him to make the install easier.
I did look at the high end siemens, but they were pretty expensive too. Obviously siemens, bosch neff and gaggenau are the same company, the siemens stuff even looks almost identical. I would agree on the gaggenau service stuff on first look. I had some technical questions to ask before I'd bought them, and called them. Phone answered straight away with no stupid menus, and immediate knowledge and help.
My kitchen is due to be installed in the next 3 weeks, so I haven't managed to use it yet! I also went to the Gaggenau showroom, and chatted to them a bit, mentioned that I'd bought the teppanyaki plate without having a clue how to use it (I just like saying teppanyaki!) and they said they could invite me to the store for classes etc. So yes, I'd say the hardware is the same if not identical but a bit shinier, but they've upped the service level a fair bit.
One thing to point out, is that Gaggenau are attempting to flog their brand of dishwashers at the moment, and if you buy several zones (cooling, heating extraction dishwashing etc) and include the dishwasher they'll up your warranty to 5 years. I didn't bother since I'm not going the whole hog, but something to think about.

We have two of the Neff ones side by side under the worktop. We bought the house with them fitted but it really isn't very often when both are used...Bit of a waste but when we do need them it will be great, whoever buys our house in a few years better like cooking but either way it will look great.

Mrs S loves to cook and looked about ,eventually choosing Samsung split ovens. We have 2,so essentially 4 ovens if need be.She chose Samsung because at 400 Euro each ,if they pack in we will just replace rather than repair but 6 years on they have been faultless.
Interesting, I did start a thread a week or so ago on the Samsung stuff as it is ridiculously cheap for what they are offering. My thoughts on not buying is that if one did pack in after a few years I wouldn't want to have to replace all 3 units to keep them matching. You don't hear much good about their after sales service I'm afraid.HotJambalaya said:

We have the teppanyaki plate and griddle with our hob - Gaggenau will visit you at home and give a demo on all their items and how to use all the features, all FOC and part of the brand service. When I have called them my number comes up and they answer the call..... "hello Mr.xx, how can we help?" Straight through with all my product details infront of them.
If the budget will run to it I'd defo recommend Gaggenau appliances, we've just had a kitchen full of their products & what a joy to use it all is to use so powerful & controllable with the possible exception of the combi oven / microwave which I'm not 100% convinced about just yet.
List prices very high but if your kitchen people are regular suppliers they can do you a very good discount on a number of items if you push them.
