Hi all,

Can you recommend a durable, hard wearing rubber roof sealant that is 100% waterproof (preferably with some kind of epoxy resin in it for added durability) which can be painted/applied to concrete/bricks?

It will be. Colour wise, black etc. is fine. Did you have a product in mind?

Really we'd need more info but assuming you want a cheap bodge it solution:

The builders favourite is Blackjack or Thompsons water seal depending upon issue

The roofers favourite is acrypol or to torch felt over the bricks.

As V8, blackjack will come off onto anything that touches it though.

Flexacryl/Acropol etc will set hard.

PMMA is the ultimate, but f'ing expensive !

This is great info thanks. Is the acryl or flex product comprised of a resin - so it sets hard? Which is better, I don't mind spending the money and getting a good product for the job. It's literally to apply over some bricks - as a short term fix till they are all replaced next year and capped with coping stones.

Flexacryl will set hard, don't know its exact make up but one its main selling points is that it contains fibres for reinforcing. I wouldn't trust it for a primary roof covering but it is ideal for repairs. I'm guessing you're looking to weather proof a parapet wall, if so how about this type of stuff for a short term fix, just remove it when needed and your bricks won't be covered in jollop. double leg capping board different widths are available it seems.

A few months back I put a couple of coats of this stuff on my flat roof (including two places where it dips and water pools) as well as over the brick walls around it. Very easy to apply with a brush. The water just runs off now instead of soaking into the rooms underneath. Has stood up amazingly well to the horrible wet weather we've had recently!

For a temp fix, Flexacryl will do.
