Recommend me a Letting Agent - Coventry

I own a 2-bed terrace in Coventry. It’s been with the same letting agent since I left the UK to reside abroad some 5+ years ago.

The agent has a shabby track record of competency and things have recently come to a head after some particularly negligent follow-up on repairs that were needed.

My tenant has many months left on contract, but once it’s up I want to end my association with this letting agency – is this going to stiff me in some way? I have no problem with the tenant.

I’m back in the UK in Aug and am looking to have a chat with other agencies – any recommendations?

Just go without. The price and hassle of the occasional international phone call to tradesmen is not tgat bad. Letting agents peddle "peace of mind", but, in reality, just skim your rent for nothing in return.

We use Fosse House in Hinkley, that have been very good looking after our property. Not sure if they cover Coventry but worth a call. We do have property in Binley Woods but never found anyone around Coventry who were very good so manage that ourselves but would use Fosse if I needed to.

Have a look at your contract with the agent, I know some agents include a clause around a penalty if you take the tenant they found private.
