Just got these and wondering if it's best to stick these into slightly bigger pots straight away?

Yes. Something nice too.

Though note - the bigger the pot, the bigger the tree will grow.

Trees in pots look cute but it's very unnatural for the tree, and you'll need to water them in dry weather.

Next sized pot up, add a few moisture retaining granules and a saucer for it to help retain the water in the summer.

I got one identical to those about 6 months ago, its just fine and has grown quite significantly since in the leaf department.

Dont get me wrong, it will need potting on, but no panic as mine proves.

Yes I would. Keep re potting them until you have the pots as big as you want to go and then just trim the leaves to keep it in line with the size of the pot being used.

Just bear in mind that if you are putting them in the front of the house get pots with a curve to the top or chain the bay trees or the gypsies will have them away.

Yes. Bay trees don't greatly enjoy being pot-bound.

Quite chuffed, done and dusted and I've gone from a garden with next to bugger all to a few different pots of herbs and lavender now too. Better late than never, almost 5 years after moving in.

I have a bed in the corner I cleared out, added some compost to and put the two spare rosemary plants and chive plant in-

It's a very sandy soil and will need more compost/mulch. Anyone have any suggestions for what sort of nice plants/bulbs to put here? To the left of the picture is south.

If you re pot the lavender use plenty of grit they like the drainage.

Was going to plant mine in the garden but then found out how big they can get.

I already did, minus the grit. Oh joy.
