I'm looking for one (!) of those washers with sprung internal teeth, the ones which you push onto a pipe or bar and they'll only move in one direction once the teeth have gripped. You know the things I mean? There are some which are just lock washers with the teeth internal but they're not right - the ones I need have sprung teeth which bite the bar.

I just need one, 15mm, as I need to dismantle the shower controller and it has one fitted to the 15mm copper downpipe which has already been removed once, a process which they don't especially enjoy. I don't mind buying, say, half a dozen, but I don't want a pack of 200! I can't even find the right things in that size, there's something on eBay for pushchairs but it might be too big on the outisde diameter.

Anyone know the official title for them and where to buy please?

Sort of like that but the ones I'm looking for have lots more (smaller) teeth and the overall OD is smaller?

I used eBay when I needed some earlier this year. Bought a handful of different sizes.

Cost per unit and postage was a ball ache but still cheaper than buying a boxset from B&Q or similar.

Try Colin and CBL Fasteners, a great guy who always seems to have what I need!

Might be easier just to buy a cheap inline 15mm push-fit and use the one out of that.

Hmm, good thought thanks. I had the shower apart once before and remember this being in there, I *think* it was to hold a plastic nut in place, hence the OD needs to be small enough. On the other hand it might be possible to do away with it. I just don't want to pull the shower apart then be without it for several days whilst I hunt this part down!

I'll check the supplier above, thanks.
