Any recommendations for wooden garage companies, I'm looking for a triple, ideally to my design/size but cost dependent would consider an off the peg one.

If anyone has a recommendation, or experience and so hints and tips it would be appreciated also.

Thanks in advance.

Fantastic, many thanks.

Dare I ask total cost? Assume full footings etc are needed?

Stupid question, but assume full planning permission is required, no kind of permitted development etc?

Cheers.

Thanks for the replies.

I've spoken to Passmores. If anyone else has any suggestions and or advice it'd be appreciated.

Cheers

I'm in the same position as you doing research into providers. I had favourited Passmores as well as Tunstall Garden Buildings - https://www.tgbuildings.co.uk/garages/

Also keen to hear any experiences of those with Wooden Garages or things you would do differently next time.

Doesn't sound like there's too many out there at the moment with experiences etc to impart.

I do wonder how dry/secure/sealed these wooden ones are, plus can you put a dehumidifier in one is the question, or does that dry out the structure too soon?

I've lots of experiences I could impart but I gather you are only interested in 'kit' timber garages?

We have a triple from Warwick Buildings - on-site assembly took a day and a bit. I'm very happy indeed with both it and them. Some design mods to off-the-shelf, which they were only too happy to include, and when they came to check the base, they suggested a couple of other changes. I'd definitely use 'em again.

£4,800 worth in 2008

It went up in a day.

Double garage with single door.
Very happy with it, although I wish would have known more about the roof structure, as I would have planned for a 2 post lift. Instead of this

Other stuff
They made heavy use of the nail gun; I took all those out – that I could - and replaced them with top spec coach screws - £150 worth!
Make sure your builder makes the base to your exact dimensions, not knock 3 inches off the length and the width for no apparent reason. I nearly exploded….. This wasn’t some cheap cowboy bloke either…
No matter how much lighting you think you need – double it.
No matter how many power sockets you need – double it
Planning permission – not for me – it’s a temporary structure, although I made doubly sure by getting a letter off the council. It can be a local thing, so check thoroughly.
Footings – a foot thick base of high grade concrete, a masonry drill bit won’t touch it…
No moisture – I have a bare cast iron brake caliper sat on the bench with no treatment on it at all. Only the slightest corrosion after 12 months.
It’s warm in winter and cooler in summer.
Security –mine has the one door, no windows at all. Expensive padlock on the door and it has an alarm on it.
I see you are in the south east, if you want to pop round – feel free.

No, not at all. I've had a bespoke three bay designed but the prices quoted from builders are so outrageous that I'm looking at alternatives hence this thread.

So all advice appreciated.

These will send you a kit and recommend someone who can erect and do the base.
Give them a call, I am a builder and would probably use them if I ever got asked for a carport/oak building.

I have a passmore garage. It's like this one (top of page), except mine has the closed garage on the right, not the left. And I've been a bit cleverer with my downpipe routing:

http://www.passmores.co.uk/category/timber-carriag...

I'm really pleased with it.

Sorry did not get back to you earlier but it would seem you are on the right track.

Ours was built in 2004 by previous owner - no idea on costing etc but it did need planning etc - its held up very well and looks new on the inside and have had no issues

It was the reason I wanted the house.....

These all look good, but I'm right next to the pavement so would need to find a suitable fireproofing approach for it to pass building regs I think
