MIL has moved to a place with a new combi boiler installed.

Unbeknown to us she's only used the shower once, (in weeks) doesn't like it apparently. From what I can work out it's a problem regulating the temp. I'm popping over later anyway so can take a look not sure if it's thermostatic or not, we can always fit one if need be.

I'm also thinking operator error, she doesn't like to waste water so it's unlikely she'll be turning it on full and probably turning it off between soaping and rinsing.

The other thing is the boiler temp, would it help if this was high or low?

I've never owned a combi but know the shower temp can be problematical from when we've stayed in holiday rentals.

Any tips?

Turning it on and off would definitely throw it. If you have it on full and no one else is using water it should be a stable temperature (once fully heated up).

It's all ok, thermostatic shower valve. Hold temp perfectly, operator error.

Flow not turned up enough so the boiler was cutting heat?

I expect so, or constantly turning it on and off, or just cack handed with the temp control, I've shown her the default setting where the button clicks.

(Mrs PR has been chuntering on about some sort of dirty protest!)

Unfortunately at 85, she sometimes has trouble adapting to anything new, she say's the shower is similar to the one she had on a cruise ship. Wouldn't use that either.
