Robovacs good or not?
Discussion
Does anyone have robots AND young child(ren)? I have a 1.5 year old, and there is so much 'crap' all over our ground floor these days that the robots haven't moved in over a year. It would just take so much tidying away of stuff for there to be enough space to really warrant the robots being set off that we just haven't bothered.
I assume as the baby gets older we can lose a lot of the gubbins that we currently have all over the place, but for now I can't imagine many people with babies get much use out of a robot?

We have one that lives under the sofa, a two-year-old and a three-year-old. As you say, it doesn't come out often but I do find it's still helpful on occasion. It does get easier with the amount of toys etc. on the floor and you can (sort of) get them to help tidy up in time too!I assume as the baby gets older we can lose a lot of the gubbins that we currently have all over the place, but for now I can't imagine many people with babies get much use out of a robot?

Deebot T8 on offer at Amazon for £199.00
For any onlookers, I would recommend that as a really good buy if that is the price range you are looking at. Was £800 when it was released in 2020.Key reasons why I bought:
Price v performance
Good hybrid across all tasks, hard floor, short pile carpet, long pile and mopping (motorised oscillating mop pad attachment)
Lidar + camera for mapping
Can map 2 different floors
Can configure no go zones (eg, under a desk with lots of cables)
Object detection/avoidance
Can be used as a remote security patrol or to keep an eye on pets (although that's not something I was particularly interested in)
Compatible with Alexa/Google Assistant
I'll do a mini review of it when it arrives this week if anyone is interested. I did a lot of research before settling on this one. People seem to be very happy with them.

I would be interested in some real world feedback. We went from a carpeted flat to a hardfloor house and the dust balls seem to accumulate quicker than I can keep up with.Key reasons why I bought:

I got a Roborock Q7 Max for about £200 as a open box return.
It works well on hard floors, OK on short carpet and doesn't get stuck, the mopping works best if done regularly as per other comments
The biggest challenge is getting the rest of the household to not leave their entire belongings strewn across the floor...

I’m torn between the deebot n8+ (which has a cleaning station) and the Deebot T8.
They’re the same price today, but the T8 would require manual emptying.
However the self cleaning unit for the n8+ is quite big and ugly, and I reckon the missus will say she hates the look of the cleaning unit.

What's the difference of the N models to the T ones. I was looking at the T10 Plus as an upgrade to an older vac that doesn't have the ability to have no go zones.
Possibly the onboard camera for the AIVI system and speaker for remote messaging. I'm not entirely sure but a quick look at T8 and N8 shows that. T8 mop also motorised whereas N8 isn't. It's all a bit confusing the spec between the models.I considered the T8 docking station (sold separately for £130) but in all likelihood, if this T8 is good, I'll likely base it upstairs and get a full Monty vacuum for downstairs, self cleaning mops, auto water tanks etc

got the d8 today and have been using it, really impressed with the hoovering!
not so impressed with the mopping though and wondering whether to get a dedicated steam cleaning robot to do that for me - has anyone here done so?
