I think you're right, but they've been starved of funding by Central government for years. It's short sighted, but if they can't afford to run them...
They've got to pay the salaries for really important jobs like the Director of street scenes, the Corporate Director for Community Well-being and Environment, plus their equality and diversity advisors and climate change officers. They all take precedence over the basic needs of the people.

At least being converted into things they aren't getting run down and vandalised.

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/146089808 You could write a book about this house, I know just the title...

Something in the lawn looks off, is it Astroturf?

Does the room purporting to be a home cinema really just have a 40” led screen?

Many, many questions. Streetview you can see the plot it must have been built on but why submerge part of the building when there doesn't seem any reason so? Stop it being so obtrusive to the house that backs onto it on the corner? Loving the living room patio doors that open out onto the front garden because theres nothing out back. Horrific...

That's what a "pinnacle of architectural excellence" looks like, that is.

I know it’s one of my own submissions so this is definitely biased, but think it’s one of the worst of the thread. Especially considering the price due to the stupid place I live!

Am I missing something? A traditional three-bed semi in the same street at £475,000 is sold STC and that monstrosity is priced at £675,00. Wouldn't you build a pair of semi-detached on the plot to maximise return?

I work for East Riding Council, we sold this in 2017 for circa £300k, now back up for £400k with sitting tenants.

Advice from our property people is quote 'it's fked'

Given in Beverley a 2 bed semi is £400k this puts this into perspective.

Can't believe there are actually people living in it. It looks knackered...

On the other hand, this is a nightmare that doesn't look knackered: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145726619#/...
