that's been on before - and yes it is a little (lot!) challenging! https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145662275#/...

More of a mystery than a nightmare - why do you think they photoshopped their own cars in front of the house?

I preferred the front garden with the daffodils. And hard flags.
I was *seriously* considering buying this - to the extent that early conversations had started.
Other than the roof clearly being at the end of its life, nothing obviously nightmarish.
I mean, look at the quality of the interiors and the garage. And the tower!
Anyway, I was concerned about access as there's this is an old stable block / laundry for the country house in whose grounds it sits.
So, I started poking around. At least this shows the benefit of the Scottish system, in that the vendor's survey is available at the start of the process, rather than waiting for me to discover all this (at my expense) a couple of months down the line.
Anyway, shared *private* water supply with the main house of unknown location, condition, scope.
Shared septic tank, same deal.
Unclear property boundaries.
Shared access through the main house's grounds - with a presumed right of access.
Gas boiler (actually two), but fed off a massive LPG tank in the back garden.
Main building listed in 1971, which is fair enough, with the tower listed in 2006.
And with the main house (Candacraig House) being some kind of "hire the whole place and spend a week drinking and shooting" place, noise is a concern.
Oh, and the fridge isn't in the kitchen...
All the above would have been workable / negotiable, but the thing that would have turned it into a nightmare was the active woodworm in the roof and evidence of it elsewhere. So, woodworm in a listed building = nightmare, to me.
Shame, as I really like it:

If it’s the house I’m thinking of, the woman seems to had done well in the beauty biz.
Although I think it’s just gone pop, so maybe a forced sale (noticed the price reduction too!)
I quite like the kitchen.
I like the kitchen and the pool area, but not much else. Although I think it’s just gone pop, so maybe a forced sale (noticed the price reduction too!)

A bungalow with a business opportunity in Fosdyke, Boston.
On the market since November.
Whenever I pass this place on the A17 I think what a strange looking place.
There's some pricey properties on Rightmove in Fosdyke, which I don't really get, as I always think the area generally is so dull and miles from anywhere.
Anyway, back to the bungalow - what's going on with the sofa in the kitchen? pics 11 and 12.

I wouldn't call it a nightmare at all. Okay it needs bringing into the 21 century, they clearly have not tried to prepare it for sale, but it has potential. A bungalow with a business opportunity in Fosdyke, Boston.

The café intrigues me. Its footprint and the space next to it, would be prime building land in many places. And maybe it would be building a house on top of it or adding a second storey. I can't imagine the turn over would give a great yield.
One thing motoring related, I note parking restrictions.
Why not 7pm to 7am ?
