Garage roller doors 2024

There appears to be some information and photos of the beast online, presumably the waggon comes over direct from Hörmann Germany.

So long as he can pull up in/at this carpark: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3z2WUTHF3Adi9xpH6 I can lug it down the lane behind, where I live (altho I reckon he could easily drive that little forklift around the corner).

As per the second link, they appear to use a UK haulage company for the UK shipments.
That carpark looks grand as long as it's not full of cars at the time.
Unlikely, it burnt out in October last year and there have been difficulties with the insurance apparently, so nothing much happening any time soon That carpark looks grand as long as it's not full of cars at the time.
Well, after a bit of back and forth, it seems Hormann don't fancy delivering to the carpark next door, apparently in case there's damage caused by my moving the crate to my house and a dispute of when/where/why damage. I guess this must be from their experience, but it's annoying. Looks like I'd have to go with paying for an install if I do want that door...

I had these fitted on my triple garage a few years ago , very nice and VERY expensive
Then I sold the house
Very swish Then I sold the house
I can't fit that type as, while I keep the car in the garage, I keep a tonne of other stuff, too, and a lot of that lives along the walls.
In the meantime, my garage door fund has taken a £1300+ hit for me to go on a PalmerSport day
So this thread will be on the back-burner for a few months
I have the following coming out to qoute, any feedback on them?

Had a qoute for 2 x standard size electric roller doors, they would be Cardale, fitted price £2900, thoughts? https://thegaragedoorcompany.ltd.uk/garage-doors-s...
FWIW, I ordered an electric roller door RollerdoorUK on eBay last year and fitted it ourselves, it was about £900 and fitted fantastically and seems to be a pretty solid bit of kit.
Compared to the £2/2500 quotes I was getting, I really can’t see what else I would be getting. Not very PH, obvs.

Ive done mine eventually, I had a guy in to quote for a securoglide and he never even bloody provided a quote!
I went with a local installer and a door from http://ukdoorsmidlands.co.uk
The roller mechanism is Ansa and seems ok to me in quality/usage so far.
Single door was £1350

The only issue I've had in 10 years with my SWS Seceuroglide door was failure of the bottom slat transmitter. It gave similar symptoms to flat batteries which meant manually closing the door by holding the down button on the hardwired controller.
It was £150 for a new one which sorted the issue and was easy to set up and pair.

Had an SWS Securoglide custom width roller door fitted about 14 years ago. Its been faultless since then, just changed the batteries in the remotes this year. Bought and installed by the Garage Door company. Its insulated although not as thick as a sectional door would be, but I didnt want to lose any space above and this was really compact compared to the sectional model.
