I used some rat glue which was applied to an old piece of timber. I managed to get 3 or 4 that way.
Glue is cruel and I believe it is about to be made illegal to use.wolfracesonic said:

Glue is cruel and I believe it is about to be made illegal to use.I thought that with seemingly everything getting banned in the UK, the revised view is that rates and mice are OK and don’t damage our houses (eat the insulation, wiring etc.) and that we should just live with them.
I live in the country have have both. I ask this because my Doberman (useless for this task) sat watching a large rat saunter over the grass and walk under the house.
I also saw a mice hide from him by going into a baited big cheese black bait box, which I suspect is useless, and then walking out when the dog left.
I should have bought a Manchester Terrier

Glue is cruel and I believe it is about to be made illegal to use.I wouldn't bet on the terrier! I'm looking after a friend's Border Terrier this week and was intrigued to see how it would get on with the mice that live in the rockery surrounding our back porch - they're pretty brazen and will scurry about even when I'm sitting out there of an evening.
She is completely useless - looked at the mouse then back to me as if to say wtf is that?! Our two lurcher crosses behave far more promisingly but too gangly to have any hope!

Nutella baited Zapper struck again...that's six we've fed to the Red kites now.
Sadly I can't use a zapper as my rats are outside.Baited my trap with Nutella also.
I think part of the problem now for me is that there are other natural food sources around the garden such as berries grubs etc OR they have identified another food source beside our garden meaning the remaining rats don't need to take a risk entering the trap.
