Did you actually laugh at that? Or did anyone else for that matter?
It put it in as a response to the current debate that is underway about 'Oxo Tower' being banned, which is why I added 'sorry' and a smiley on the end. As you can see from my previous post on this thread, I have offered serious advice which IS relevent to the question posted.
But it's not funny though is it?
Well to be honest, it doesn't really bother me. Pasco asked a question, I gave a serious answer, Pasco thanked me.

That is all I wish to say on the matter.
Is that your last word on the subject then GLB ?

Play nicely children.

I have a large willow tree across the road that is in a garden raised about 5 feet above the road level and which is growing through the garden wall. The branches are growing across the telephone lines. The owner ( who in fairness is very nice and also concerned about the three) pops out and cuts the odd branch to stop damage to the lines but I can see a day when the fact it is effectively only supported by soil on 3 sides will lead to ir falling over in a a high wind and onto my house across the road. I have suggested 'pollarding it ( taking all the branches off) but the neighbour says the council will object to a request to do that as it would spoil the view of the road and they have to tell the council because it is in a conservation area.

What can i do when the neighbours refuses to have them removed as it would cost them over a grand each

Any advise most welcome.

Offer to pay for removal? It would certainly smooth feathers...

Trees that big may well have Tree Preservation Orders on them, in which case would the Human Rights Act work? (Not a legal battle I'd like to Bankroll eek)

Its sort of been said already:
But allow me say it, (one last time, Petrol Ted) PH Style:

1.Take it up the OXO tower

2.Kick it in the face

3.Nuke it from orbit

4.Then buy an MX5!

Can anyone tell me did this tree actually die in the end and what method did they use
Err no, because why would you search on google for how to kill a tree and then wade through to the second page, after sidestepping a lot more valuable information to ask a motoring forum?

I was looking at my neighbour's tree overhanging where I park, and it was leaning over in the wind, and it reminded me that we used to be high on the listings for google "How to kill a tree".

The good news is we are still in at number 2.

. . . wait for a storm to come along, like last night, then when you get up in the morning you'll find it laying down in the garden pond furious
