I worked there, my office was up those stairs in the grand hall. Lovely place. That is the one for me, really really lovely. I would buy that tomorrow if my euro millions came in. That, I like. Just to add, if you're interested in buying it, it's far enough away from Slough for that not to be a consideration. The brochure apparently mentions Beaconsfield, I don't know why, I'd have thought as the location for the famous golf match scene in Goldfinger Stoke Poges is sufficiently well known in its own right.

Ok what the hell is efflorescence, and why if that place was rebuilt in 2000 did they not add double glazing. You can get some very well made double glazed wooden sash windows now a days?

As a realistic prospect and next 'up the ladder' for us I really like this - a few miles down the road and it has some fantastic views over a river. Interior probably needs a bit of work, and if I were in a position to buy I reckon 700-720k would take it. http://www.funda.nl/koop/buggenum/huis-48405433-do...

Love the style of it garages? Not sure about garages, certainly a big driveway though. I really like 1920s period Dutch houses. I really wish I was in a position to buy that, but got to slog it out another few years in our current place first (no real hardship ).

Went to Brugge earlier this year. I did notice there were a lot of nice houses around.

Hard to tell as it's quite a way out....certainly beyond normal commuter belt though it is near a good train line. They're marketing it through a Harpenden estate agent which is quite smart though....even if it's 20 miles closer to London!

Strutt & Parker aren't a Harpenden agent only, they are UK wide high end agent like Knight Frank and Savills, that's just the local office that deals with the area.

Something I think I haven't seen in the UK as the Dutch do have an understated design look.
