Tell you what, though, you do realise that:
1. You also have a pedigree herd of Longhorn cattle 2. You will be having the Quorn Hunt in on a couple of occasions a year at least for champagne and Melton Mowbray pies 3. You have at least one farm to run 4. You are going into the cheese business - Quenby Hall is apparently one of only six dairies in the world licenced to produce Stilton cheese, arguably the best, and has a deal to supply M&S, or did before it hit the rocks 5. There is a wedding business 6. You will have a raft of tenants and staff dependent on you for their livelihood 7. You could budget a cool million a year, less whatever you can make, just to keep the place ticking over in good condition, and that's before me and the guys arrive for a stylish piss-up.
This would not be like buying a pad in Magaluf.

Ive already thought of that: 1. A friend who is looking to move away from his farm in somerset would do the cows and cheese. He makes somerset chedder and some goats cheese already. 2. fine by me, will have a shoot running too hopefully. 5. Scrap that, dont like weddings. 6. Appoint estate manager 7. I think it would be less, 600k maybe minus whatever you can make from the other stuff/rent. pistonheads party will only be 50k, ill get Jay to run it hes not doing too bad at wilton house.

Not porn as such, but this is the house Mrs Puggit sees twice per day while taking the dog for a walk and is hankering after big time. She doesn't know it's on the market yet as she's been away with the kids http://www.gpees.co.uk/buy/property/4-bedroom-deta...Not a lot of house for £575k, but it's in an amazing location next to the common/forest (which is why we go past to walk the dog!). We paid £305k for a 4 double-bedroom new build a mile away...

Just up the hill from me, £1.5m; http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...Currently 2 houses and an apartment but being sold as one and not too difficult to convert back I wouldn't have thought. I've been in one of the houses and there are still a lot of original features too, the coach houses are perfect for garaging with almost no changes apart from flooring and it's in the centre of the village but isn't overlooked as it's at the top of a hill. Only potential downside is the relatively small garden (about an acre) but I don't like gardening anyway.
