Sunfold - Too expensive, but potentially good
Recognising they are expensive, it's an excellent product and fantastic service. Blew away the competitors when we looked round although I-D systems were close.

Oh yes, it's a 4m run, 3+1 opening, bottom rolling, flat threshold etc, etc.

Hi Richard, I'd be interested to hear what you have to say about Sunfold and what you learnt about the world of bi-fold doors. We are looking at installing some at the place we will be moving into in a couple of months.

We have some very nice solid wood doors made by Norton Joinery http://www.nortonjoinery.co.uk but sadly they are based in Malton N. Yorkshire. Very vey nice.

We have about a 5 meter run with 5 doors. They are fantastic and we love them to bit.
Do they install as well?

I've gone with 1stslidingfolding and I'll let you know whether that was a good or bad choice.
Interesting. Spent the day at the ideal home exhibition today with the OH and we were both impressed with them. It'll be interesting to hear what you have to say.

Whats a rough price for a 3.5m run. I'm trying determine if these are worth the extra cost over french doors.

They seem like a lovely idea when it's hot outside.

We also went the sunfold route, 3 sets of sliding doors in a recent renovation. TIP - If you know an architect try to get them to but them for you we saved a packet doing this as the manaufacturers seem keen to get architects speccing their products ona build. I cant rememebr exactly what we paid ( i think it was about 15k for all of them)

Ours are a reasonable size - 3.60m by 2.40m, we went for 3+1 opening and solid oak which is excellent.

They cost under £4400 inclusive of VAT and the service from the installers has been exemplary. If we'd gone for their standard timber, we could have saved about £800 or so.

Would love to see some update pics to see how this has weathered since it was first built. Am considering using the same stuff for a new deck. Is it slippery when wet? Also interested to know how the doors are weather sealed with the flat threshold.

We have some Sunfold doors ... have been fine until one of the panes of glass broke at the weekend. We still don't know how it has occurred ... Sunfold think something has hit the window by the way its broken ... but its on the inside. Anyhow, they want £700 for 1/2 a hours work to replace the glass!!!

I need to find a Yorkshire based company who is capable of fitting a new pane ... any ideas??

Is that £700 labour, or £700 including the glass? If that latter, depending on the size of the pane that's not the end of the world...

I'll be looking for a decent bi-folding doors supplier in South Wales shortly; does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,
