A £4.99 Tescos Value job heats water to 100C boiling, same as a £50.00 job does.

But does it have a boil dry warning and is it cordless? As both are features worth having.
It's cordless and as it has a water level guage that shows to it's operator whether it's filled enough to use.rolleyes

Not boil dry which is a help if you get up flick the kettle on then do something else before checking how it is getting on, we have a Morphy Richards Opera which whistles when it boils which is great for this situation, the thing is it is absolutely full of limescale.

I was given a Magimix one last Christmas. It's a good job it's quick because it is really loud. Not recommended for that reason.

I bought a Sainsburys rapid boil kettle for £12.99 early September and had it replaced last week (under guarantee)as the lid wouldn't stay shut when it got to boiling point. When I got the replacement the shelf barker stated that it had been given a Which award.
Looks OK and I quite like the blue light illuminating the water as it boils.
