Glad I'm not the only one to hate this design! The best I managed was to tighten the screw right up in place then pull the cable some more! I'm not crazy about the idea but it was the best look and the wire had woven insulation around it to was protected a little! Try to pull until you feel the wire "give" a little, this is the insulation stretching a little, it is this spring I utilised to pull the fitting as flush as it could be!

Hi all, I've just installed some pendant lighting and have hit a problem. The base simply wont sit tight and flush with the ceiling, here is a pic to illustrate

The screw at the base has been done tightly, but it simply wont hold the base tightly.

Does anyone know what I could use to attach this to the ceiling?

Any help appreciated!
Would i be right in saying its a Kartell FLY fitting????
If so you havent got any easy hope.
I managed it a while ago, however can not remember how.
Sorry

I have some Kartell pendants with roses like this. Not a great design really and the only way I managed to get them flush is to grab hold of the cable, get some tension on it then push the rose up nice and hard with your other hand and tighten. I couldn't get them perfect but better than in your pic by a long way. Mind you, I've got vaulted ceilings so they are 20ft up and it is difficult to see if they are flush or not!

Good luck......

Yep it's a Kartell fitting, good spot!

Glad to know I'm not the only one with problems, thought I was doing something seriously wrong!

Thanks for all your suggestions, going to spend a while over the next few days trying to get them right!

Screw it, I've had an idea!

Use this stuff to stick a small magnet to the rose and a small piece of metal to the ceiling, et voilá flush fitting!
