A guy up the road has hammered 6 inch nails through the top of his fence to stop the sts climbing over.

I'm not sure he gives a toss about the law. hehe

There's a lot to be said for this, not just for how effective it would be, but it also says to the scummers *what else will this bloke do/have prepared* even if they did get in.

A mate spread the dirtiest grease he could find over the top of his fences.

Not a physical deterrent as such but they local chavs soon stopped after getting their clothes covered in the stuff.
We did this at one of my old depots when we had a spate of yoofies coming into the yard. We found one set of finger marks a couple of nights later, then no more.

We assumed that whoever it was got a belting from his mum when she tried to wash his clothes.

+1 for the carpet gripper, which I use to keep the cats out. I must admit that I put it on the inside of the fence at the top so that it can't be seen and the dirty little cats catch their fingers, I mean paws, if they try to climb up!

Google plastic fence spikes.

I had to climb over a customers wall when they forgot to leave us a key for the gate. They had these things on top off the wall and I can assure you they f***ing hurt, even when covering them with a thick hi-vis jacket!
These work extremely well, use them to stop foxes getting into people's garden but do work well for yoofs aswell!!!

And most of the companies selling them sell the signs to put on the fence aswell!!

IIRC you need one sign at each end of the fence!!

Nobody is going to get injured on something like that because its so visible people aren't going to try.

Its the hidden stuff that can cause problems IMO.

Grease seems like a good idea too.

We have barbed wire, razor wire and gresed up fences.

Misconception on the law - if they injure themselfs while tresspassing, they have no legal recourse.

Think you'll find tresspass is not covered in criminal law but sure is covered by Common Law. You CAN be sued.

What about a sentry gun in your garden looking at the fence?
You'll be fine as long as they don't have Ghost & Ninja Pro on or Flashbangs on them!

On the other hand, you could install a powdercoated or galvanised steel pallisade security fence. It is a more expensive option but impossible to climb and has spikes on top.
