Hows she bred and what's the plan for her future?
well, you get 2 horses who love each other, and then let them make a baby horse, as for the future, the daddy horse hasnt called or text the mummy horse yet so its not looking goodMum is Irish draught x dales
Dad is full Arab
she's going to be a decent looking horse
she's very steady on her feet, was up and about within 10mins of birth, none of this "Bambi on ice" business for her.
Long time since last post so time for an update:
Tia is doing great, had her first ride in trailer and was very brave, walked "mom" in and she stood and whinnied a bit then trotted in.
Then took her out on her own the following evening, she loaded-up no problem at all.
Brave girl.

Has she got more growing, muscling out to do. I am not particularly knowledgeable re horses, so forgive the possible stupid questions. To me she looks fairly heavy set (from her Mum I guess) but her hind legs look a bit slender in comparision but is that how she should be?
The pics of her a day old are great, always amazes me how a newborn can learn to control all those legs so quickly (I know it's a survival thing but still amazing)

she has a good bit of growing and filling out to do yet
I thought the same so asked the owner of the Stud (she sees her a lot)....she says she looks fabulous and is as she should be at this age.
She is very impressed with her handling, she lets us clean all four feet without a fuss and comes over to have head collar put on, ditto rugs.

Ahh, I was working on the fsct that large breed dogs can have a similar appearance during their 'teenage' phase (no idea what how old a foal/ horse is when they are classed as 'teenagers' I don't even know when they stop being called foals!!)I thought the same so asked the owner of the Stud (she sees her a lot)....she says she looks fabulous and is as she should be at this age.

I'm assuming her Mum will have the calmer character compared to her Arab Dad?
Looks lovely.I'm more of a small pet person ,although a lot of years ago ,I did some work on a vets premises. He was a small animal / farm animal vet, she was a horse vet, with horses. Any time I got near the horses ,they wanted some fuss. She (Mrs vet) was amused, to see this, and had never seen animals wanting to make friends with some stranger .
