Why do I read these threads? weeping So sorry for your loss.

It reminds me of our dear Milly that we lost about 3 months ago after getting vestibular syndrome. Yes, I know she had liver cancer, going blind and a multitude of other problems but the end always comes too soon.

We all sat with her on the bed when the vet arrived and Sonny or Cavalier even jumped into her grave after her and tried so hard to kiss her.

It's only now that I can talk and laugh about all the mad things that she did.

She is now at peace with the other four in the garden and we miss them all so much.

Really sorry to be reminding everyone of their loss, It's just so hard right now for me to deal with & I know several people on here have been through it. I know in time I will be able to remember nothing but the good times & hopefully all of the negative times will be replaced with happy memories. I just wish I could hug him one more time though.

Really sorry to read this and he was not that old but a beautiful boy.
Remember all those happy times with him.
I feel very lucky to still have my spaniel the age she is.

So sorry. But you did the best thing for your pet, which is also the hardest and bravest thing we ever have to do. Putting them before us is where our mettle is tested, and you did what was right to do.

Also, our souls stay together through eternity, so you will meet again (this is why we get on just really well with some people biggrin), but in the meantime they live on in our hearts.

Thanks everyone, Just want him home now so that he can sit looking at his chair all day for the top of our cabinet.

I grew up with retrievers and just yesterday had my new boy out walking with my dads 2 retriever bhes....first time ever off the lead for him running through the woods with two beautiful ladies.

Just reading this thread and I really feel for you - I love retrievers - my fav breed. So loyal and gentle.

Really feel for - I'm actually near tears thinking of my past retrievers. He looked a beautiful dog - he is no longer troubled with fits etc and you guys will meet again.

Sorry for your loss. Feel for you - i lost my pal in september.

Take care.

Can somebody in the know how please put me out of my misery as I have read several articles (probably not a good idea) but we have requested a separate cremation which the vet has promised but after reading these articles, it appears that although you request a private cremation, it doesn't always happen! This has made me feel extremely worried & physically sick.. Please help.

Stop reading!

Stop worrying.

Would you be worried about any other member of the family's cremation? Exactly. Trust your Vet, he's done the best he can for him so far, he'll continue to.

But humans are cremated separately, animals are not.... I do trust our vet but even they have no control over how these organisations work. I just want him home to be honest.

It all just came too soon for me though as he didn't show any other signs on Monday night that these fits were going to be any different to the last couple of years! How wrong was I......

Such a shame.

I know, it's the shock

It's easier when you get the time to say good bye, but when it's unexpected...

At least you had the chance to stop him from suffering and say to say goodbye smile
