Well. the months have gone by, and I have been following Great Dane rescue.

Soon, Xena will arrive home. Two years old, a very sad life, left to starve in an uninhabited drug grow up. Found emaciated and nursed back to health by a foster home. She is still a bit skittish understandably. Once she is spayed she will start her new life, and will travel with me on many road trips, summering in Canada and wintering in Arizona. She is a good traveller, and very affectionate, so we are confident that the old life will be forgotten in a while...

Meet Xena - future Route 66 warrior, desert offroader, and heartbreaker, but not soon for the latter:

Just to say, that if I had a choice of where my last walk would be it would be in Monument Valley.

I'm sure Xena will have a great life with you.

Excellent news, she's a Honey.

So pleased for both of you.
