Just read your thread from beginning to end. What a rollercoaster!

I am sorry to hear that Jack is unwell again - but I hope you both have a very happy Christmas and that Jack enjoys all the pressies that Santa will bring him smile

I spend a bit of time at Battersea Brands Hatch. I'm proud to be a part of a team of people that invest so much effort into the welfare of the animals that come in. It makes it worthwhile knowing that the likes of you continue with the same level of care and commitment. Good on you, you have my utmost respect.

Best wishes to you and the little man. He did well to find you.

Wow, I dont shed a tear at much but that done it! I think it's started me off as I've had a tough first 18 months of my boy Vinnie's life. He's had 3 patella ops and a scare with his eye when the cat scratched it. His knees still arnt right but I cant put him through anymore, the right knee has too much scar tissue to be done again. I dont get upset to think what will happen when his legs give up but try not to think about it too much. All this from someone who 2 years ago didnt really like animals lol.

The thing about their sight/smell/hearing makes sense, just watching Vinnie you can see how he finds his way around, not really looking just sniffing and listening.

Anyway, I will be thinking of you and Jack over the xmas period and hope the results from the vets come back as good as they can be.

Thanks everyone for the very kind comments, it is incredibly heartwarming.

At the moment, I'm waiting for the Vet to call me back to discuss getting him in for his biopsy. I called today, but didn't hear back so will call again tomorrow.

Jack is still showing no symptoms of any illness, and will be monitored up until we know what we're dealing with.

No news is good news until I know otherwise.

Thanks again everyone.

This brought a tear to my eye but you've given this wee guy the best possible life and he's probably much happier than many dogs with their sight! Thanks for sharing this and all the best.

Thanks again for the comments everyone, it's lovely to read them.

Jack is booked in next Wednesday for his liver biopsy, I'll update with the results when I have them. Time to find out what we are dealing with!

New to this thread.

I've got to admit I'm not really a doggy person, but this thread is heartwarming.

Good luck to both of you.....thumbup

Update

Jack had his liver biopsy on Thursday, it went very well and they got what they needed. The liver didn't appear anything other than 'a bit pale', which the vet said was at better sign than other obvious signs of disease.

He recovered form the small operation very quickly, and we should get the results from the biopsy next week.

Fingers crossed.
