Nice going butter face I think all dogs and cats should be microchipped for situations like this and if they are stolen etc.

Was just popping out with the wife earlier to get some indian and as we got to the main road, we encountered a cat that had just been hit in the road. The car that hit him sped off frown

Poor bugger was twitching on the floor but was dead in less than 30 seconds. Lots of blood.

Grabbed a couple of bin bags and another chap moved him to the side of the road. I wrapped him up in 2 bin bags and we knocked on a few doors but noone knew him.

I've since taken him home and he's in the garage at the moment. I'm a bit unsure what to do!

Will a vet take him? He could possibly be microchipped but had no tags etc.

There is a volunteer run animal hospital locally, I will see if they will take him tomorrow. I couldn;t just leave his body lying at the side of the road, although my friend thinks I should have?

Any ideas?
I had the same thing happen a few years back. He was still alive however...

Knocked on a few doors, didn't belong to anyone but I managed to get a bin bag & a blanket to wrap him in.

I put him in the car and took him to the local RSPCA centre. They were great, took him in and checked him over. I don't think he lasted long if I remember correctly but I'm happy I did the right thing.

I lost my cat to an RTC, a neighbour who did not know he was mine actually took him to my vet.

I'll never forget the phone call, didn't sink in what was said to me for about a minute and then lost the plot in the middle of a car park. When straight to the vets to get him and was extremely grateful to my neighbour for what he did and the vets. It was terrible to lose my darling boy but at least I was able to be reunited with him and have him cremated.
