Found a rabbit....
Discussion
Yesterday the other half pointed out a rabbit on our driveway, nothing to strange i thought probably just escaped from a local garden, owners probably looking for it etc. Let it be for a while as it didnt want to be caught, eventually the local youngsters found it and were chasing it round with sticks trying to catch it. I didnt like the idea of them getting hold of it so went out myself and after much toing and froing around my driveway and blocking off escape routes with a neighbour we managed to corner it for the other half to get hold of it. Once being held it seemed to be quite calm and happy to just snuggle into her and be stroked. We rang the local animal rehoming centres but no rabbits reported lost around here, and have put a add on gumtree but no replies, asked around neighbours etc. Now the mrs would happily keep it as it seems a lovely rabbit but i've put my foot down as we already have a dog, 2 cats and 3 chinchillas so no more pets!!! My brother has said he would have it if no one claims it as long as it can live in his garden (just moved to a place with secure back yard with no way of escape but no grass).
The rabbit appears to be in very good condition and in 24 hours has demolished a whole carrot and few bowls of rabbit food, and st just as much as hes eaten! He is currently in my garage in a cordoned off area with food and shelter, but his condition has me wondering if he may have been a house rabbit? would he be ok to live outside if used to being indoors?

Haha i did joke that myself but her indoors was having none of it! Had a little google and it appears to be some sort of Rex breed, no idea if fully grown or age etc, it has a very soft coat and appears to be in very good condition albeit a little peckish. Would like to reunite with owner if lost really. Plenty of foxes round here so wouldnt have lasted long i reckon, though one neighbours thinks its been running loose for a few days.

I can't that bunny doesn't have a home, it's a gorgeous bun. Find out if it's litter trained as it will be if it's a house bun.
A bit if a long shot but I'd get your vet to scan it, some bunnies do get microchipped.
Keep it, you know you want to really
How do we find out if its litter trained? would it just use normal cat litter?? Its peeing in the same spot but leaving its little poo marbles scattered a bit, its in a 5ft square corner of my garage at the mo.A bit if a long shot but I'd get your vet to scan it, some bunnies do get microchipped.

What a cute rabbit, I would keep it Just looked a your profile so a long way to go to collect it for us.
If you or your brother keep it it will need a hutch/run combined on hard standing , a fox or local cat will get it if it is loose in a garden or if its possible to burrow into the run, It will be fine as you have it now as for long as you want to keep it there, they appreciate some hay and a litter tray, paper based cat litter works fine. You can make a hutch cheaply enough, but put some decent mesh like twilweld on it, foxes can chew through chicken wire. All you need to do is put something like an old sack over the mesh front at night to keep the wind off the bunny and make it feel secure.
This may help you if you can part with it,

Although lots are looking for homes as people hit the financial stops

If it isn't pooing in one place it isn't litter trained/ is marking territory or hasnt been neutered, it is a rex.
Rabbits do like to graze so no grass isnt ideal but if it is provided with plenty of hay it should be happy enough, rabbits aren't built to have empty tummys so they need a fresh supply of hey daily.
Now it is starting to warm up he/she will be ok outdoors as long as he/she has somewhere to hide (garage is perect but your brother would need to provide a sheltered area like a hutch for nap time
