A heads up to anyone in the area who keeps theirs in kennels. There have been 3 incidents in last 10 days.

One stolen from Mortimer was found abandoned in Uxbridge.

I'm not for vigilante justice so I hope the thieves enjoy bk cancer.

There are an awful lot of dog thefts being reported including white transit vans with specified registration plates. There is also a rumour that coloured stickers are being used on gate posts which ID the size of dog - I have not seen any stickers where I am however.

OH got told of another attempt last night. 15 year old girl walking the family black Lab in Shurlock Row, near Bracknell; guy in a red Fiesta tried to take the dog off her but she managed to run with the dog to a nearby house

Fighting.

That is what the idea of the stickers was - Big dogs that can fight, then medium dogs that will lose then small dogs for baiting.........

That is my understanding of it at least.

Nothing new unfortunately; all that's changed is that we are no longer allowed to use the P word to refer to those involved.

They also target working dogs which, as I understand it, are taken to mainland Europe and sold. See the thread about Angel, a beautiful pointer stolen oop norf in Yorkshire. Sadly I know of three dogs up here that have been taken where the owners suspect that they were targeted after being watched working or training their dogs.

If you are buying a dog, please make sure the seller has the relevant paperwork and get it scanned for microchips.

There are loads of them around here.

One camp is about to get a £0.5M extension into greenbelt land because of "overcrowding".

Bit of raw emotion coming from me tonight.
But if I found out they had taken mine - when I had him- and found out wher they where, I would do any of them. Sure I may be outnumbered and I would get done in, but if I took one of them out, they might know what it feels like. Happy days.

Or maybe infiltrate an event with a crew.....

This is most worying news, It was in the local rag this week aswell.

Mrs Flat6er is nervous about dog walks on her own as it is (Beagle tendancies to wander), But now she has gone into full panic mode. We even had a conversation last night about monitoring him when in the garden!!!

All joking aside though it is a concern, Her folks live in Mortimer so its all a bit close for comefort. We are on the watch out for stickers and odd looking folks hanging around.

However, if they did take him, which is likely as he is everyones best mate in the park. Im not sure what he would do, just crap himself and quake in the corner. He hates confrontation and even when we play rough n' tumble, if it gets a bit much he just stops and refuses to engage.

Cruel, evil bds, the lot of them.

Edited as Im a tard.

There have been reports of dog thefts in Lincolnshire. These have been dogs that were tied up outside shops. I have never been able to understand people who tie dogs up outside and then disappear into a shop where they can't see them. I have witnessed dogs being tied up outside supermarkets for an hour while their owner does their weekly shopping. Apparently recent dog thefts are believed to be for baiting in relation to dog fighting.

The thoughts of your pet being used as a sparring partner for a fighting dog just fills me with anger.

God I hate these scumbags who do this.
