So as well has having a goldfish that is still kicking 2yrs later (I was expecting it to have given up by now). Plus dealing with a cat with hypothyroidism at 11yrs (how long will he go). We've now decided to get a dog, so a male chocolate lab has been earmarked at the local breeder.

Hip scores from Mum are 8 and dad is a full working gundog with previous litters not exhibiting any hip / elbow issues, so I'm not too concerned.

Now starts the long trek of puppy crates, socialising, toilet training, food training and more importantly gun dog training.

I'm looking forward to this. Pick him up in 3 weeks; plenty to do in the mean time like start to look at the back garden and attempt to make it puppy proof.

The breeder is local to and we've seen the family. They've described this one as having character. Which to my mind means we're in for some adventures.
