glad that you eat what you shoot but when did you shoot it ?
Sacha my female Harris hawk eats what she catches through the season, but the pheasants and duck we share, the season being oct 1st Feb 1st to give the wildlife chance to breed and rear their young
I put her up so that she can moult through.

It was put in a pot, cooked slowly with some red wine, junipers and berries. It was lovely.
The dog and me shared the squirrels. Quite nice meat but not much of it. Tasted nutty
Well, I reckon if I relied on squirrel for my diet I would go hungary. Maybe SC has eaten them all The dog and me shared the squirrels. Quite nice meat but not much of it. Tasted nutty

That pic is a few months old. Not sure if they are classed as game or vermin, if vermin you can shoot them anytime. Lovely looking animals though so its a shame that they are quite tasty.Sacha my female Harris hawk eats what she catches through the season, but the pheasants and duck we share, the season being oct 1st Feb 1st to give the wildlife chance to breed and rear their young

Lovely bird highflyer. Love falconry, wish I had the time to give to the sport. How much do you get out through the season and what game do you take? Do you hunt over ferrets? Really interested in it but working full-time don't think I could give the bird the dedication it needs.Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
