Seeing littlelewis' identibun has made me see that our old man is just that. He doesn't look anything like the bunny posted above and that's how he should be. We'll give them a good week and then call time.

So sorry LGF, I know it is such a tough decision to make, I questioned myself a few times before I finally decided it was time, but once I had decided I knew I wouldn't change my mind. I decided Gareth wasn't going to have another injection to help him use his back legs, he didn't like having butt baths and was losing weight (all this is detailed earlier in the thread if you wanted to have a look). It was so tough because he was his normal (grumpy old man) self, he just couldn't use his back legs without the drugs in him.

littlelewis6, Stew is beautiful! Welcome to this part of the forum ha ha

Thanks for the warm welcome guys smile

In my defense stew came with his name when we adopted him, but we found it pretty entertaining so it stuck.

LGF my condolences for your guy starting to struggle, I hope seeing stew hasn't caused you any upset, looks as though they're very similar in size and appearance.

Don't be silly. It was lovely to be reminded of the good days.

If Stew has the same personality too you're in for a loooooong atti-chewed filled time.
Keep your toes out of reach and don't upset the Demi-bun.

I remember Gareth well, Axigizmo. He was a fabulous bun.

We still have pee everywhere and the tramadol isn't as effective as we hoped and the trade off with the stress of giving it to them isn't there. Coco managed a small binky yesterday but that's been the only one in a month.

We're just having a little longer but know the road is short and the journey is nearly over. There isn't the quality of life and I don't want him to have the indignity of losing his sight as well as the aches and pains. He poops where he sits and doesn't even make an effort. That's no life for a super clean bun.

He's definitely a chewer! although he's pretty affectionate towards me, does figure 8's around my ankles when I'm stood playing on the PS4, scared me to death at first though!

I never realised just how much personality rabbits had until we got Stew either. We have guinea pigs too and they all have very distinct personality traits smile

We said goodbye today.

My heart is heavy, the house is empty- but it was the right thing to do.

Run free my fur babies.

Buns love Christmas tree's don't they! Usually we wouldn't put ours up so early but this was my fella's only weekend off before Christmas and he wanted to put it up with his kids.

Obviously the buns are no longer free range but I need to find something to wrap round the wires as i've no spare fencing at the moment

First Christmas with Paddy and I found out what all my presents under the tree were. He unwrapped all of them, little bugger!LOL last year we stayed at a friends house wit Pads, she used to have a bunny so house was still bunnified. We were sat watching TV when the crimbo tree lights went out, where is he? By the cable with one wire chomped and about to finish it off, with him being deaf I had to be fast on my feet to grab him.

how the hell don't they get electrocuted the amount of wires that are in the mains that ours chew through and nothing it's very odd.

Pads has been good over the years. All he has had is 6" of surround speaker cable, phone charger and the tree lights. They do seem to have more lives than a cat when it comes to cables lol.

God knows. Roger has been through endless main power cables to washing machines, tumble driers etc and is still going strong...!

It's been mostly phone chargers that mine have gone through but there has also been a surround sound system (the main power wire - Not an easily replaceable speaker wire - obviously!), 2 sets of tree lights (within a few days of each other!), the lead to a surge tower which had TV, Surround Sound, Sky & PS3 plugged into it. All of these were Gareth, little monkey. The only one I think he got a shock with was the surge tower, the power tripped out in the house and either in pain or through fright he legged it back to his cage, I checked his mouth and kept an eye on him but he was fine. He shouldn't even have been able to get behind the telly, he had pushed a table across the wooden floor to get behind the tv unit! Super bun.

I was trying to wrap presents on Sunday morning (bf's birthday, not Christmas ones - i'm not that prepared!) and Frank kept putting his front paws on the paper and scratting at it, ripping it. As we don't have a dining table I had to do them on the floor so I gave in in the end and apologised to the fella for the crap wrap haha

Electrical tape used to be got through in huge quantities in this house. That and hosepipe- get the cheapest you can, slit it, pop the cable in and then electrical tape up. Works a treat!

This week our house is an utter tip as for the first time in nearly a decade I have left everything on the floor and it hasn't been destroyed.

Loving seeing the festive bun pics.

The rabbit free ness has lasted 4 days. I'm going to volunteer at the rescue to get the cuddles in.
