Ours flip all the time. One is sometimes a little to enthusiast and goes right over. Quite funny seeing it just a sign of his content they are.

This is the best I've seen though

Thank you so much, that means the world to me that I can help others, honestly.
My frank flops all the time. He'll just be sat there sniffing the floor then he jumps up and throws himself on his side on the floor laugh
They are amazing creatures and I wouldn't be without bunnies now. I hope you have many happy years with Poppy, she is a stunner, I am looking forward to watching her grow.

Poppychops in her usual position (between my legs) but sometimes she has a mad 5 minutes and runs about like a nutter and wheelspins on the wooden floor.
When i got her she was very underweight and her back had bites along her spine, apparentley the seller said she was the runt of the litter and her mother used to nip her back!,I knew i could give her a better life and gradually fattened her up and since giving her lots of fresh hay her coat is super shiny and she is happy and content.
B.T.W. i'm 53 yrs old and grumpy but since having poppy i have never been so happy and laughed so much.

They are certainly entertaining little beings.

I had to laugh yesterday morning. Cinders escaped by lifting the panels of the pen and getting it jammed so they had free run of the flat (Luckily we were still home and I busted Frank sneaking down the hallway). If I didn't have the Bunny cam I wouldn't have believed it was Cinders, I would have blamed Frank!
I took some screenshots of the crime taking place:

She sat sussing it out for quite some time before she made an attempt to lift the panel

After a couple of lifts it got jammed in place

Then she slides off and wonders around undetected

Frank has lifted his head from the food bowl for long enough to realise his mrs has escaped but he looks around and cant figure out how she did it

She walks along the side of the cage so he can see her and waits for him to come out but he cant figure out how she got out (Bless him, he's not very brainy). So she has to go to the gap and show him how to get out haha

Has anyone got any suggestions of what to put over a carpet to protect it?
I'm moving to rented accommodation, and trying to figure how best to cover and protect the carpet in the room my 2 will be occupying.

For under the cage one of these, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0082CAVP2/ref=twister... . Rubber backed so liquid won't go through and shallow pile so Hoover's nicely.

I have this rug in their own area:
https://www.therugseller.co.uk/search-viewproductg...
With a waterproof sheet underneath (Just incase). They have pulled the pile out of it (when I say they, I mean Frank!) in one corner but that is what it is there for at the end of the day smile

I lift the rug and waterproof sheet every few weeks just to check all is well really, would hate for some water to have got under there from their bowl and for the Carpet to go mouldy or something

Thanks for that, I have just got the fencing but didn't think to incorporate the cage like that, so will be doing that to maximise the space. I just bought 2 cheap rugs to cover the carpeted area for now.

Unfortunately my 2 are proving troublesome to bond. They travelled over to our new place together in the car and spent the first night with each other but started fighting in the morning so have had to be separated.

At my old place they stayed in separate rooms and would have supervised time together in a neutral place for a few hours a day. if they got the chance they would hop into each others cage and mark their spot. Having them in the same room with both cages accessible to both seemed to cause an issue.

I'm hoping with time we can get them to share the same space in peace!

This was when I just set the new area up last night, I'll be adding more toys / things to keep him occupied.

A lot of my posts on here have been about Jessica, who we had to put to sleep on the 15th of December.

Well here is Roger.

They were more brother and sister than anything else, but they were very well bonded.
He must be the most well travelled rabbit alive. We rescued him from 'Pawz for Thought' in Sunderland and we took him to North Yorkshire where we lived.
We bought a house, and he moved there. We were posted to Gibraltar for a year; so we drove over in 2 cars, Roger and Jessica in with me, and the wife had Bruce in with her.

Fast forward a year and now we have Lily as well as Bruce -

And now we are back home. This is the last house move we'll make while our animals are alive.
It's just not fair on them at all. Roger and Bruce in particular have been pulled from pillar to post this past 3 years or so.

If someone can beat Rogers journeys, i'd love to know!

Sunderland to North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire to Gibraltar (via Channel Tunnel, France and Spain), Gibraltar to England (drive through Spain to Santander, 24 hour ferry from Santander to Portsmouth).
He's been under the English Channel and over the Bay of Biscay.

Nothing has really phased him and he'll never know how proud I am of him.
They reckon black rabbits are less popular as they aren't as photogenic; but give one a try sometime...!

Wow that a journey for them all! I have to agree about black rabbits they're a pain to photograph but we love our two who only travel from leeds to Sheffield so nothing too bad.

I ended up cable tie'ing the run to the indoor cage as I didn't have a litter tray at the time so needed somewhere for them to pee, it worked out quite well so I kept it that way when I moved from sawdust in the whole cage to a fleece lining & litter tray with wood pellets in,

I'm by no means an expert but I have bonded 3 pairs which all worked out.
It maybe that you have moved too fast for them, going from separate rooms to living together, I would definitely have the cages in the same room with a couple of inches between them to ensure no injuries but so they can still smell each other.

I swapped the buns into the others cage every day or two to get them used to each others smell, this seemed to work quite well.

Like I say I am no expert and am just speaking from my own experience smile

Roger is lovely and I bet your right about him being the most travelled bunny laugh.
You're quite right, its so difficult getting a good pic of a black bunny, especially when they are indoors!

I managed to get this one at the weekend, Had to have the flash on which I don't like doing but this is Cinders, eating a very rare treat of half a strawberry and a red grape (her fav)

And this is Frank begging for Kale and showing off his lovely white tummy

Thanks for the advice, I've set the indoor cage up to the end of the run now, it looks much better.
I've ordered a second run and will be moving our other bun into the same room with the same setup, will give them a while to adjust and then use the swapping method, that sounds like a good idea.

well the castle didn't last long thanks to Holly deciding to chew the thing to death. They loved sitting on the middle shelf too but she's gone and ruined it lol

When i went to pets at home and saw that the cardboard tubes are £5.00 each i went to my local carpet shop and got an 8ft tube for 50p...............
I cut 2 slits in each tube and slotted cardboard sections to make a castle,The turrets are indistructable but the walls soon weaken but its cheap and fun.
Another great idea is cut some tubes at 90 degrees and make lots of interlocking tunnels some with small holes along the length for bunnies to peep out.
Some carpet fitter like to reuse the cardboard tubes but if they are bent and their strength is compromised not a problem as bending in half makes it easier to fit in the car.
Tune in tommorrow when i will show you what to build with a washing up bottle, sticky back plastic and a pot noodle pot.smile

It's great to see that there's other bunny lovers on PH.

Here's our family of four little Netherland Dwarf bunnies:

Flynn, the daddy:

Fallon, the matriarch:

Flopsie, the eldest of the two girls and very much the intellectual of the group:

Finally there's Fifi, she take after her mother in levels of mischievousness when she wants to:

And this is their little place to call home; somewhere to put their paws up after a hard day running amock in the garden:

It still needs a final coat of lime render once the weather warms up, then the finishing details, but it's getting there and has at least been useable over the winter.

Epic! Although I can't imagine using a "sorry I'm going to be late, I have to lime render my rabbits' house" as an excuse would work.

Here are Winston and Clemmy enjoying a lie down after a run around.

They also got one of the cardboard castles recently, they aren't chewing it so hoping it holds out for a few more weeks!

Such a nice rabbit,I sometimes poke hay through the top of the cage bars and watch her do a meerkat impression when full stretch on her back legs.Fascinating pets.
