What is this thing on one of my dog's skin?

It has been there for a couple of days (apparently - was just pointed out to me today).

Appreciate the image isn't great quality.

Looks like a tick. Get a cotton bud, dip in cooking oil and spread liberally over the tick. It will quickly let go, drop it into some more of the oil until dead.

I have a superb little tool for getting ticks off. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit.

It's not a tick - I REALLY doubt it's a nippple, doesn't look anything like any of the other nipples and like I said has just appeared. But yes it is on the chest.

What is the consistency? Is it a mite scab? They live under the skin and can create these brittle scab lumpy things on the skin.

My vet used antibiotics, and some regular anti-mite-tick type treatment.

It could be an infected bite of some kind yeah cause there is what looks like a small hole in it.

That's what it appears to be to me as well.

Or a burst sebaceous cyst.

If it looks mucky, not clearing up after a few days etc then it should be checked out.

vet sez looks like an infected bite fwiw

Had this on mine last year, cost me £50 for some skincream which cleared it up
