4 am puppy wake up calls
Discussion
New Puppy Ella (10 weeks old Labrador) likes waking up just after 4am and then ensuring we wake up too! she is sleeping in the spare room across the hall from our bedroom with a baby gate on the door to keep her in and away from the 2 cats.
She goes to bed brilliantly and settles down with no fuss at all, usually 11pm ish. But like clock work just after 4am she starts crying and making a noise to wake us up! Hubby gets up at 5am anyways week days so has just been getting up earlier to shut her up and let me sleep, but obviously this is not ideal! and definitely not ideal that she of course does it at weekends too.
any ideas what to do? today im changing the curtains which are light cream curtains to some heavy darker ones to see if that helps block out the daylight, but any suggestions welcome please!
very tired puppy mummy!

thanks all, I think I may just be noticing it as for the first week she was brilliant and didn't make a peep but now she has started this routine!
as soon as she is house trained during the night the gate will come off the door and she will have free run of the house during the night, but don't really want her poo'ing everywhere just now, so that room is covered in puppy pads at bedtime

I let my mongrel hobo/idiot cross have run of the house, as well as an executive key for the cat flap. Soon learned to poop outside. He never chewed, but he does like to consider toilet roll to be a very good fertiliser, and if left within reach he will spread it out over the lawn.
He is quite the gardener.
